Glad the day is over, glad the work week is over, and now my extended weekend begins. Nice
The ride home was horrid. We had an overflowing bus, tip to toe full of people, when a huge scooter came on. The gal had no idea how to steer it, and came on front-wise, and tried to turn it around on board. It would have been comparable to turning a transport trailer in your kitchen. (I assume none of you have huge kitchens.) Anyway, after several tries, which included bumping into people's knees and causing feet to seek refuge under our benches, she backed off, whacking everything in sight, got on the sidewalk, turned around and backed on the bus, again bumping into each side of the bus as she zigzagged her way toward the handicap area. Bus driver was saying, "Straighten up your wheels," and "Just back up straight," and she would turn her wheels until she ran into the side, then turn her wheels the other way, and so on and so on. Finally, she got strapped in and we were on our way, about twenty minutes later.
Then as we neared the skytrain station, she kept telling the people who were standing in front of the bus to back up, back up - she wanted the front section all clear before the bus stopped so she could be first one off. I don't know where she expected the people to go - some were standing for almost an hour on the bus, and it wasn't because they wanted to, but she was there with her hands in the air trying to herd people back, and pouting because they wouldn't try to squeeze into the other standees behind them.
Sometimes, grown ups just need to act grown up.
